During sports day I was really scared because of the tug of war. I was happy that I was playing with my friends.
On Thursday we were playing eight games. Our first game was with Miss Heimuli. We were skip-racing, back and forth. Later we went to Miss Whyburd to do the three-legged race. We had to go into buddies and put one foot each into the rope. After that we went to Miss D’Souza and we did the sack race. We had to hop the race. I ran into Treila and I was falling down. I cannot believe that Treila could beat Kale in a race. When we went to Miss Sullings sports game, we had to throw gumboots. Toakase threw so far, but Mr Hadnett threw all the way to the soccer goal. After that we went to the egg and spoon race. It was a raw egg. We had to go slow because the wind might blow the egg off the spoon. After that, we went to Miss Paton. We did a long jump, and when I put my foot into the sand, it burnt my leg because the sand was so hot from the sun. After that, when Mr Hadnett rang the bell, we went to Mr Tyrell. It was one of my favourite games. We had to catch the tails, and run from the taggers. The last person with their tail was the winner. I was the tagger, and I tagged 3-4 people, like Kale. The last game was with Owen and Miss Mia. We had to throw a beanbag into the bucket. The final game of the day is tug-of-war; it was one of my scary games. Maungawhau was the first house to verse Te Tatua. One second later THE WINNER was MAUNGAWHAU. My team had beaten Owairaka and Puketapapa. We won so we got to compete against the teachers. I said “Oh no! The teachers are winning, and boy oh boy look how many kids went to the teachers”, when they had won. The next match was with the parents. My Mum and Dad went down and gave it a try and the kids won! When we were sprinting it was really hard because Jenesys and Ken F had the same speed. I came fourth place, Ken F came first, Jenesys came 2nd and Ethan came 3rd. I couldn't catch up to Ethan. The people that I lost to were Jia, Ethan, Jenesys and Ken F. It was so hard because my legs were so tired!
